JOB PURPOSE:

The Inbound Logistics Manager optimizes intercompany and local replenishment costĀ  and ensures efficient processes for cost capture and reporting. This role drives growth and efficiency by collaborating with both external and internal teams to reduce service costs, improve customer service, and implement innovative processes. The role requires knowledge on the importation processes and will serve as the subject matter expert on customs clearance.Ā  As a subject matter expert, the role ensures all activities meet Colgate’s standard processes and custom.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the day to day monitoring of imported and domestic shipments, awarding of shipments to the brokers, warehouse inbound delivery planning and ensure issue resolution.
  • Accountable for inbound logistics cost optimization. Ensures accurate processes in place for gathering and reporting of the cost, coordinates regular cost reviews with vital parties.
  • Drives growth and efficiency improvements by collaborating with 3PLs, local/divisional management to reduce cost to serve,Ā  to improve customer service levels and to implement process innovations and funding the growth initiatives
  • Monitor performance of freight forwarders and customs brokers, to ensure timely delivery, to achieve company goals.
  • Key person to coordinate with the Export Manager of Supplying countries, Import SNPs and local Warehouse Manager to ensure synchronized arrival of all products imported from export supplying hubs and contract manufacturers.
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates on the global and domestic port situation and ocean freight market.Ā 
    Work with Import SNPs on lead time analysis and recommends vital planning parameter adjustments to achieve inventory right size for all distribution centers.
  • Evaluate potential or new lanes for network optimization and cost minimization.
  • Participate in yearly ocean freight bidding by providing valuable insights and comments to aid in the selection of the best freight forwarders.
  • Work with Procurement Services to gain local market insights on customs brokerage cost models to ensure that the company is ahead or at par with the industryā€™s standard process.
  • Work with local Finance and CBS to analyze monthly replenishment costs and analysis of routing guide, quarterly additive costing and analysis of product cost variances of freight.
  • Prepares Replenishment Cost budget and latest estimates.
  • Drives standardization and automation of inbound logistics processes and tools.Ā

EDUCATION AND FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelorā€™s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business or related fieldĀ 

REQUIREMENTS:Ā Ā 

  • Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in Manufacturing or Customer Services & Logistics (CS&L) focus on Inbound Logistics
  • Third party logistics management of Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers experience will be a plus
  • Knowledgeable on Customs Clearance Processes
  • Experience and knowledge in handling databases and basic coding skills an advantage

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge in SAP Distribution
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detailĀ 
  • Able to plan, prioritize, and flexible to changes
  • High proficiency in GoogleĀ  Applications (Doc, Sheets, Slides)
