SCM Manager

What you’ll do:

Provides leadership and direction in the tactical execution of materials management activities at the plant or business unit level to support business objectives.  Key support areas include production plan development, production control monitoring and reporting, materials sourcing, supplier development, warehouse operations, transportation and logistical movement of goods, and compliance with trade regulation.

  1. Generates effective production plans and build schedules to meet total demands (forecast, customer orders, safety stock) established by the supply chain team.   Effectively coordinates with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Manufacturing and other support groups as needed in the development and communication of production plans.
  2. Monitors and generates production control reports in the areas of planned output vs. actual output, capacity, and other factors impacting production output.  Makes necessary adjustments to production schedules as required.  Identifies and escalates critical issues as needed for timely resolution.
  3. Generates and maintains accurate information related to production schedules in SAP system.
  4. Manages all warehouse operations in the areas of receiving, storage and put away and issuing of material.  Ensures accurate and timely processing of all material transactions in SAP system.  Maintains and executes inventory control processes to achieve 99+% accuracy.
  5. Ensures timely and cost-effective movement of goods through the utilization of established transportation carriers, and routes as defined and approved by the Global Transportation organization.   Achieves high level of accuracy in all required documentation.
  6. Ensures 100% compliance with applicable import/export trade regulations.  Collaborates with Global Trade Compliance organization to establish and implement necessary business controls, processes and records retention.
  7. Secures the highest quality of raw materials, goods or services at the best possible price.
  8. Develops and implements purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  9. Manages continued professional growth and development of materials management organization.  
  10. Generates training requirements and plans as required.
  11. Manages and ensures materials management organization achieves established objectives in the areas of budget and cost controls, employee productivity and safety.
  12. Ensures compliance with company stated policies in all aspects of position performance.  Reports and manages all violations of company policy as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Requires minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar materials management role.
  2. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in managing a team of people.
  3. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering, MBA or SMA certification is an advantage

Skills:

  1. Strong and deep understanding of ERP/MRP systems; SAP experience a plus. 
  2. Strong analytical capabilities and ability to work accurately with data.
  3. Effective at written and verbal communication.
  4. Effective in building and developing an organization with a strong focus on process execution, discipline and attention to detail.
  5. Capable of assessing problems, identifying root causes and developing/implementing corrective actions.
  6. Leads by example.
  7. Demonstrates strong ethical work behavior.
  8. Operates with a strong sense of urgency and recognizes the importance of timely execution and escalation.
