The position is designed to support their Respective Production Manager in the daily production activities in their Section in order to meet production target set by Production Planning. The Product Supervisor is expected to coordinate the activities of an assigned work group of technicians and operators from first process to end process and shipment of the end product..

Manufacturing Management – Si Advanced Optics Production

Manpower complement with the right set of skills is met to efficiently operate all process but not limited to or at their respective section of the Department in order to meet weekly Kilogram,  and volume targets. Knows product/process as stated below: 

1. Production assessment of Operators. 

2. Support in all Si advanced optics polishing processes including in-process inspections performed by production personnel.

3. Packaging of end product for all customer assigned.

4. Equipment Preventive Maintenance.           

Productivity and Process Improvement

Lead the implementation of productivity improvement projects, as well as cost savings initiatives in the various areas of but not limited to Si Advance Optics production.

Supervisor carries out shift operational activities and instructs the Blanking Operators according to the set production plan (setting the Daily Tool box). The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with the work instructions and ensuring the production line meets the requirements for product quality, material usage efficiency (recovery/yield), output production targets and costs as well as safety (QRVCS).  Compliance in recording requirements for material tracking is critical. Reports on material usage and material balance are included in the daily/weekly/monthly activities as well as preparation of the Requisition Slip (RS) for needed materials and supplies.

Environmental, Health and Safety

Lead the investigation of near-hits and incidents, and ensuring that these are reported and commitment dates for closure of the actions are followed. Follow all the highest control of safety measurement at all times inside the operation.


Reports to:  Production Manager

Supervises: Optical Blanking Lead Man; Optical Blanking Operators, Final Inspsectors (least priority)


Educational background:  Graduate of any Engineering Discipline, or equivalent years of experience, College level pr Vocational level with experienced of Supervisory.. 

Work Experience: With at least three (1) year direct experience in Optics Grinding Process and/or (2) years related experience in Optical Production Process

Manufacturing Management

a)  Production targets (in terms of kg and volume (q’ty)) are met or exceeded

b)  Equipment breakdowns and planned shutdowns are reported and coordinated with Engineering such that downtime is managed and limited

c)  ISO audits (surveillance and quarterly audits) are consistently met, and closure of audit findings are completed on time based on auditor/auditee agreed time line.

d)  Metal balances and WIP/residue inventory are submitted to Managers as required

e) Punctuality and attendance performance of direct reports are religiously monitored, and that issues and concerns related to these are promptly addressed

f)  Production cost meets target set in production plan

g) Ensure 100% achievement of On Time Delivery (OTD)

Productivity and Process Improvement

a) Labor productivity and yield metrics are met or exceeded

b) Cycle time reduction program is implemented with one major process line reviewed every quarter for productivity improvement

c) Daily Toolbox meeting with Technicians and Operators 

d) The workforce is motivated to engage and participate in the Company’s plant-wide productivity programs, such as cost reduction initiatives, through submission of written suggestions and smart ideas                       

e)  Attendance rate of 90%                                         

f)  housekeeping procedures are implemented and sustained

Environmental, Health and Safety

a)  Maintain zero accident and all first-aid/near-misses are reported and reviewed

b)  Review of SDS with Leadman and Operators is conducted at least once every quarter

c)  All EHS Incident and CPAIR uses the RCA method

d)  HIRAC, EAIA and JHA are reviewed and revised accordingly on a quarterly basis
